Technology has changed everything in our world, even the way we fall in love! I know many people who have had great success with online dating and can think of multiple marriages that started with a swipe! Over the past few decades relationships and courting have changed so much; online dating is one of the main ways that people meet each other nowadays and there is nothing wrong with that! As with all things in love and relationships, you still need to be cautious and smart. Sadly, online dating sites are packed with predators and narcissists. Of course, there are great ladies and gents that you can meet online but I wanted to highlight some of the unfortunate connections between online dating and narcissism. Why do narcissists tend to lurk around online?

Endless Supply: We all know that narcissists crave and need supply. They struggle with commitment, get bored easily with romantic partners, and need outside validation. Having someone like their profile photo or send them a message boosts their fragile ego. I have heard both men and women in committed relationships reporting such sadness and disappointment when they discovered their partners had multiple online dating profiles. If you are chatting to someone you like online, keep in mind they may be chatting to other people too. This will probably be true if they are a narcissist.
